YMCA Performing Arts Summer Camp

Directed by Steve Marking, this five week summer camp will teach skills in acting, singing, and dance.  Mornings will be spent building these skills in classes, while the afternoons will be spent on all aspects of producing a show to be performed on August 10 and 11th.  Participants should bring their own lunch each day.  This program requires a minimum of 25 participants to run. 

Registration deadline is May 18th.

Show performances Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11

Guided Tours – La Crosse Short Line Railroad Display

Saturday, August 4th
11:00am – 3:00pm

The 4000 Foundation will be hosting guided tours of the La Crosse Short Line railroad display in Copeland park.  The display will be open on Saturday, August 4th from 11:00am – 3:00pm.  Admission is FREE and open to the public!

The La Crosse Short Line railroad display consists of:

  • Burlington Steam Locomotive No. 4000, built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1930 for The Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad.  It was retired from service in 1955.
  • Milwaukee Road Caboose No. 0359, built at the Milwaukee Road West Milwaukee Shops in 1883.  It retired from service in 1961.
  • Grand Crossing interlocking tower.  It was built in 1928 to replace the original structure.  It was retired from service and moved to Copeland Park in 1991.
