Quilt Documentation Day

Saturday, August 18th
9:00am – 4:00pm
Swarthout Museum, 112 South 9th Street, La Crosse

Calling all quilters and quilt owners!

The La Crosse County Historical Society, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts, will be hosting a Quilt Documentation Day on August 18, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our trained volunteers will be collecting information on your quilts, old and new, for inclusion in the database of the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts and the online Quilt Index (www.quiltindex.org). They can tell you when and how your antique quilt was made, and give suggestions on proper care and storage.

To avoid long waits, we will be scheduling appointments for the upcoming Documentation.  We will also ask that owners schedule no more than 2 quilts.

The cost for Documentation is $5.00 per quilt, payable at the door. Donations to the La Crosse County Historical Society will also be accepted!  To schedule an appointment, please call Peggy Derrick at 608-782-1980, or email her at lchscurator@centurytel.net.
