One of the great African-American rising stars in the world of classical music, pianist Michelle Cann makes her LSO debut in Maurice Ravel’s jazzy piano concerto, the perfect musical picture of Paris in The Roaring Twenties. We start with another great LSO tradition, celebrating the amazing volunteers of our community who make our magnificent orchestra possible — conducting lessons included! And to finish out our season, by popular demand — Hector Berlioz’ grand monument of a romantic symphony, a hair-raising drama-without-words that is the perfect introduction to the world of the symphony orchestra.
