Dahl Auto Museum

The Dahl Auto Museum includes an illustrated timeline of the Dahl Automotive five generation history with Ford Motor Company. Approximately 20 antique and classic cars are on display to highlight each decade from Dahl Automotive inception in 1911. To incorporate historic La Crosse, the museum also features a re-creation of the Starlite Drive-in Theatre.

Historic Trolley Tours

Enjoy the scenery of La Crosse while relaxing on the air-conditioned trolley bus. The bright red trolley bus is a nostalgic re-creation of the types of vehicles that traversed the streets of La Crosse in days gone by. Enjoy interesting narration provided by the La Crosse County Historical Society as you tour historic neighborhoods and establishments.

Hixon House

Built in 1858 by lumberbaron Gideon Hixon, this extravagant Italianate home has been preserved by the La Crosse County Historical Society with all its original furnishings. One of the prime examples of La Crosse’s rich history and 19th-century Victorian architecture. Open for walk-in tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-2pm (last tour of the day starts at 2pm). Group tours (10 or more) available year-round by appointment.

La Crosse Queen Cruises

You can’t visit La Crosse without getting on the water.  Climb aboard the La Crosse Queen, an authentic paddlewheeler riverboat straight out of the late 19th century and early 20th centuries, for sightseeing, luncheon, and dinner cruises.

Stop by their outlet store Monday – Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, to purchase any of their 50+ spice blends right off the shelf, and take a tour of the plant. Minnesota Marine Art Museum

The MMAM is the La Crosse area’s access to Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh, O’Keeffe and more! With changing exhibitions about every month and one of the finest and fastest growing collections in the Midwest, there is always something new to experience at the Museum. The MMAM is located just a short drive north of La Crosse in Winona, MN, surrounded by acres of gardens overlooking the Mississippi River.
