River City Water Ski Show Team

Since the River City Water Ski Show Team was formed in 1972, it’s main goal has been to promote water safety, perform shows during the summer, prepare skiers for competitive skiing, and to promote the sport of water skiing as a safe, family type recreation.  With over seventy members, including both skiers and non-skiers, we perform free shows every Wednesday at 7 pm at Airport Beach on Fisherman’s Rd., French Island, for local residents and tourists. Our 2017 shows start June 14th and our final show for the season will be August 9th. In addition to our weekly shows, we perform four ski shows at La Crosse’s annual Riverfest Celebration on July 1st,  2nd and 3rd. The team will also compete at the WI State Show Ski Tournament on July 21st.

As a nonprofit organization, most of our success is due to a very organized and energized group of ski members, parents, and dedicated sponsors. Without the tremendous teamwork put forth each year by these people, the growth and success of our ski team would not be possible. Our goal is for continued growth and success of our ski team while contributing to the La Crosse Community.

Committed to bringing the joy of water skiing to as many people as possible, the team conducts a learn-to-ski program through a local Park and Recreation department and a juniors program. Junior ski team meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4 pm – 6 pm, June 5th through August 7th.   Children with special needs are also invited to join in the fun of water skiing at the two Adaptive Ski Clinics, scheduled this year on June 22nd and August 17th at Airport Beach starting at 10 am.

Anyone can become a member of the River City Water Ski Show Team.  Members range from beginning skiers to members with many years of experience. Come out and see the show, it’s fun for the whole family!
