Have some fun while getting your scare on or getting lost in a maze of corn. See the dead come to life before your very eyes, experience life behind a freak show, run for your life through a course of zombies, or follow clues to find your way out of a corn maze! Whether you’re looking for family-friendly events or big scares, the La Crosse area is there to provide!
Friday and Saturday nights will be haunted hikes and will include spooking stations all along the trail as well as a haunted barn at the end.
A look into a traveling freak show, FreakHaven strives to show the life of the people in a freak show when they aren’t performing. Complete with a grocery store, toyshop, and spiritual guidance areas, FreakHaven is a community. With all sorts of people, FreakHaven offers fun for all ages. For less than $10, with student discounts, kid discounts, and discounts with non-perishable food items, find some fun at FreakHaven.
Looking for a pass to The House of Shadows, but also want to run from zombies? Check out Sparta’s Zombie 3K. Runners wear flag football style belts as they flee for their lives through a zombie-infested course. In order to survive the run, runners must retain at least one flag. The cost includes a t-shirt, pass to The House of Shadows, raffle tickets, a commemorative button, and a pre-race party.
A 2 story brick building with a haunting past, volunteers get into well-developed characters in order to scare people. This non-profit organization helps the local Boys and Girls Club, and offers two types of scares. The “not so scary” times, for the young and faint of heart, are from 6 until 7 pm. “Very scary” hours—participants beware!—begins at seven and goes to an unspecified time.
Open daily Sept 1 – Nov 1, Hidden Trails offers 4 corn mazes, a pumpkin patch, weekend wagon rides, farm animals, and fall decor and more! Get lost in over 5 miles of paths in a 12 acre corn maze.
