Performing Arts

A night on the town in La Crosse, WI, isn’t complete until you take in a live show, and this exciting river community has a surprising variety of options. While the La Crosse nightlife and live music scene are quite well known, performance art here goes well beyond bars and bands. With multiple state-of-the-art facilities, the area attracts myriad talented artists and performers in dance, theatre, and music, and is quickly becoming a regional cultural arts center. Check our arts calendar to find the next showtime for you!

La Crosse Community Theatre

The La Crosse Community Theatre has been a tradition for the Seven Rivers Region since 1963. Musicals, comedy and drama headline the performances with seven delightful, entertaining shows each season. Performances are Thursdays through Sundays on select weekends. La Crosse Community Theatre is a member of the Wisconsin Association of Community Theatre. Season tickets, military discounts and more are available. Visit their website for current schedule and box office information.

La Crosse Symphony Orchestra

The mission of the Symphony is “to provide excellent symphonic music for the pleasure of the public in the tri-state region, educate people of all ages in the symphonic repertoire and tradition, and encourage student and professional musicians to develop and share their musical talents and skills.” With roots all the way back to 1898, the LSO has been continuously fulfilling this mission in the region since 1941.

Viterbo Fine Arts Center

World-class entertainment appears on the main stage during our Bright Star and NexStar seasons, which contain a mixture of professional musical artists, dance companies, and touring theatre companies.  The One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series concerts showcase the talents of our music department faculty and regional artists.  Their Ronald McDonald Arts for Young America Family Series contains fun titles suitable for all ages. The performances often hearken back to the books we loved as children, or love to read to our children.
